Born Nov. 5, 1898 in Snowville, the son of the late Alex Alexander East and Sarah Nance East, and the widower of Viola Mae Thornton East.
He was a member of the Dublin Church of God.
He is survived by three sons, Berman J. East, Newbern, Sherman L. East, Max Meadows, and Warren J. East, Pulaski; two grandchildren, eight-great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Daisy Buckner, Snowville.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Dublin Church of God with the Rev. John Briggs, the Rev. James Hopkins and Willie Lee Haga officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Newbern Cemetery. Friends may call anytime today and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Home, Dublin. The body will be taken to the church at noon Friday to lie instate until the service.
