Frank Hanzlik, only son of John & nanna Hanzlik was born in New York on August 4, 1873 and departed this life at Blue Rapids, Kansas on April 9, 1955 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 3 days having succumbed to the infirmities of old age.

When a young man, Mr. Hanzlik came to Kansas with his parents and settled on a farm in Riley County, north of Cleburne, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Douda in Leonardville, Kansas on November 1894.

They resided in the Cleburne vicinity until 1946 when they moved to Blue Rapids to make their home and where Mrs. Hanzlik passed away on December 29, 1949. To this union were born William, who preceded his father in death in May 1940, Agnes Jones of Cleburne, and Wilma Thomas of Wichita.

Mr. Hanzlik spent most of his life in farming going through many hardships similar to those of any pioneering family in the early days. he was also adept at masonry and anything that was of help to his family, his neighbors and friends when they were in need of assistance.

Mr. Hanzlik proved to himself that a man can befriend anyone regardless of class by overlooking their faults thus winning their friendship.

His parents and an infant sister also preceded him in death many years ago and surviving Mr. Hanzlik are the two daughters, a daughter in law, four grandchildren, other relatives and many friends who will hold him in their memory.
