Killed in Korea
Cut Bank, NOV. 11.—(AP)—The
defense department has reported
that Marine Sgt. Norman A.
Gertzen, 26, of Cut Bank, was
killed in Korean action.
In letters received here last
week, he wrote that he was near
the Manchurian border.
Gertzen spent two years in the
navy following graduation from
high school here in 1944. He
joined the marine corps reserves
and was ordered to active duty
in August.
Survivors include his widow,
Audrey; a daughter, Elisabeth,
two; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Gertzen, and a brother,
Gerald, all of Cut Bank.
