Cecile Mae Adams, R.N., daughter of James K. and Mary L. Adams, was born on a farm north of Little River, Kansas, April 28, 1908, and departed this life January 3, 1932: age 23 years, 8 months and 6 days.

At an early age she moved to Galesburgh, Ill., with her parents. Her father departed this life in January, 1914, and her mother in December, 1923.

Cecile then came to Little River where she made her home with her aunt and uncles, finishing her schooling and graduating from high school in the spring of 1928, and in the fall of the same year she entered nurses training at Hoffman Memorial Hospital and finished her course at Axtell Hospital at Newton, Kans., in June 1932. Since then she has been caring for her invalid uncle and nursing at the hospital.

Cecile, having a kind and cheerful disposition, was loved by her many friends and patients.

Her untimely death has cast a gloom over the entire community.

She leaves to mourn her departure her brothers Everett K. and Vernon H. of Galesburgh, Ill., and Robert S. Adams of Chillicothe, Mo. Also a number of uncles Adam, Edward, Clay, George, John, Jake and Samuel; one aunt, Sylvia Deeds, other relatives and many friends.

Sister Cecile, thou were mild and lovely,
Gentle as the summer breeze;
Pleasant as the air of evening,
As it floats among the trees.

Peaceful be they silent slumber,
Peaceful in thy grave so low;
Thou no more wilt join our number,
Thou no more out songs can know.

Dearest Cecile, thou has left us,
And they loss we deeply feel;
But til God that has bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.

Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the storms of life have fled;
Then in Heaven with hoy well greet thee,
Where no farewell tear is shed.

Funeral services at the Congregational church at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon were conducted by the pastor, Rev. John T. Spriggs. The body was laid to rest in Bean cemetery.
