RITES TUESDAY FOR
VICTIM OF ACCIDENT

Malad - Funeral services will be conducted here Tuesday for a man killed in an accident Saturday at the Utah Idaho Sugar factory in Garland.
Thomas Henry Chivers, 60, of Malad, was killed while riding a skip to the top of a lime kiln to check on fuel.
He had worked for the company for three years.
Mr. Chivers was born Nov. 5, 1902 in Malad, a son of Thomas C. and Irene Owens Chivers.
On Nov. 17, 1928 he married Eliza Wight in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a graduate of Malad High School and a high priest in the LDS Church.
Mr. Chivers had lived in Malad all his life, was past president of the Oneida Wool Pool, president of the Southside Well Co., and chairman of the Cache Valley Breeding Association.
Surviving are his widow of Malad, one son and two daughters, Thomas LaVon Chivers of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Roy E. (Alma) Thomon of Bountiful, Mrs. N. F. (Rhea Mae) Vanover of Delano, Calif.; his mother of Malad and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Second Ward chapel with Bishop Max King officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery.
