Memorial service for Esther Doescher, 102, of Blue Earth will be at 2 P.M. Saturday March 27, at St. Lukes Lutheran Home in Blue Earth. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
Mrs. Doescher died Friday, March 19, at St. Lukes Lutheran Home. Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth is in charge of arrangements.
Esther Goettel was born Nov. 5, 1890, near Lansing, Iowa, daughter of Gottlieb and Anna Goettel. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and later from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She married Ralph Doescher on June 1, 1916. They lived in many cities in the United States but most of the time in California. After the death of Rev. Doescher in 1944, she served as managing hostess of a guest lodge for the First Presbyterian Church in Oakland, California. She also worked in a private boarding school in Walnut Creek, California. She was custodian for 10 years of the Faribault County Historical Museum in Blue Earth. She lived at St. Lukes Lutheran Home since May of 1963.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews in the area; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, two brothers and five sisters.
