Her sister, Alice Atteberry told me the following: "There were 16 of us in all, Arrora was the 13th baby to be born. Pa's parents were Thomas Martin Atteberry and Elizabeth Pendley. It says Frances Elizabeth on her stone but she went by Elizabeth. They are all buried in Missouri. Ma's parents were William Johnston and Sopha Ary."
"One day, three days before little Arrora took sick, an owl flew into the kitchen and landed on the curve of stove-pipe of our wood-burning stove. He said, "Who? Who? Who?" three times then flew out. Our Ma, Evylign (as spelled in family records) was trying to get a cooking fire started, she'd had the door open to air the place out. She was frightened (people were very superstious back then) and said, "Something terrible is going to happen." Exactly three days later Arora died. She and Alson (George Alson Atteberry, their brother, died age 4) were buried in Alabama. About ten years later we moved to Missouri".

Alice never forgot the owl, her mother being so frightened or her little sister, so tiny and beautiful, who passed away so young.
