Earl was a heavy equipment operator for a couple excavating and building businesses. He also worked for the Town of East Lyme for awhile.
He was the second son of Everett and Gladys (Daniels) Rathbun and was my Little League coach in those early days of East Lyme Little League. He had a bad heart and in those early days of heart surgery it was a tough call. He told me once "It's not a good thing for a working man". He was married to Marian Hilliar and had four children. He was a good guy and had a great sense of humor, loved to hunt and fish.
