Obituary:

Mrs. Emiela Kroeing, 90, died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Elk, of 620 Commercial street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Shimek and Schwartz funeral home. Mrs. Kroeing was born in Germany in 1848 and came to this country 60 years ago. She has resided here the past nine years. Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Elk, city; a grandchild and five great- grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the funeral home after Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Her husband was Julius Kroening, who died before 1930 in Wein, Marathon Co., Wisc. She had 4 children, three are known: Ida Bertha, Hattie, and Martha. Martha married Heinrich Behn in 1894, Marathon Co., Wisc. Martha and Heinrich had a daughter, Hildegard G., b. Sep 1895. Heinrich died the same year, and dau. Hildegard lived with her grandparents Amelia & Julius Kroening in 1900 & 1905 census. No further information regarding her daughter Martha. Daughter Hattie was born Feb 1883 in Marathon Co., Wisc. She was living with her parents in June 1900, age 17. In June 1930, Amelia resided with her daughter Ida in Wausau, Wisc. At her death in 1938, they were living in the city of Manitowoc.
