Born in Conyers, Ga., 78 years ago, Mr. Zachry had spent the greater part of his life in Florida, mostly in Jacksonville, Palatka and Sanford. Until his retirement in 1944, he was a dispatcher for the Atlantic Coast Line at Sanford, where he was active in the Presbyterian Church and in the Kiwanis Club, being a past local president and a former lieutenant district governor of Kiwanis. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hattie Flansburg Zachry of Sanford; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Raulerson of Atlanta, and one son, William B. Zachry, Jr., of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at First Presbyterian Church in Sanford, with Rev. A. G. McInnis and Dr. E. D. Brownice officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 24 Nov 1949.)
