Three Dublin residents were killed and two others injured yesterday, in a non-collision automobile accident on Alleghany Mountain three miles east of Christiansburg on US 11. Mrs. Mary Hurst Adameit, 22, her 3-year-old daughter, Cheryl and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Hurst, 19, all of Dublin, were killed when their car crashed a guard rail and plunged over an embankment shortly after 6 o'clock night. George Caldwell, acting Montgomery county coroner, identified the victims. Mrs. Adameit's year-old daughter, Mary Jane, was admitted to the New Altamont hospital at Christiansburg for treatment of fractures of both thighs. The fifth occupant of the vehicle, Miss Jean Duncan, 17, was to be released from the hospital. She was treated for minor lacerations. She is a niece of Mrs. Adameit. Dr. Caldwell quoted Miss Duncan that the westbound automobile got off the shoulder on the right of the highway and the driver, attempting to get back into the road, apparently lost control. The machine swerved across the three lane road near the foot of the mountain, crashed a guard rail and went down an embankment. Both women and the little girl were reported to have met almost instant death. It was not determined which of the two women was driving. The group was reported to have been returning from Roanoke where the baby had been taken to a physician. Surviving Mrs. Adameit are her husband, Eldon Adameit, baby daughter; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. John S. Hurst, of Dublin; and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Tom Price, of Prospect Dale; Mrs. Eugene Miller, of Pulaski; M.D. Hurst, A.J. Hurst. Mrs. Walter Allison, Richard Hurst, Mrs. Everett Sowers and Mrs. Charles Duncan, of Dublin, and James Hurst, of Radford.
