His obituary reads:
Lewis Russell Livermore died at his home in Clarksfield, Friday, Oct. 13, 1916 at the advanced age of 85 years, 7 months and 20 days. Mr Livermore spent most of his life in Clarksfield, coming here from his home in New York when a young man. He was married to Matilda Bonney before the war, in which he served four years. His wife died several years ago. Three Children died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Clark died in 1895. Three sons, Frank and Guy of Clarksfield, and Charles of Rochester, and eleven grandchildren survive him. Also two brothers and one sister. The funeral was held at the M D Church at Clarksfield, Monday Oct 16. The services were conducted by Rev. Townsend, of Wakeman, with burial in the cemetery nearby. Those from a distance in attendance at the services were: Mr. and Mrs. James Bonney and Mrs. Tessie Marlow, of New London and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Shayes of Norwalk.
