The funeral service for factory and Henry County Highway Department worker Murvin Nored of Paris is scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sparks Street Church of Christ, where he was a member, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, song leader and trustee.

Edward Howard will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be after noon Wednesday at the church. Trinity Funeral Home is in charge.

Nored, 66, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Henry County Healthcare Center.

Born June 19, 1942, in Paris, he was a son of the late Murvin and Johnnie Oliver Nored.

He was married on Nov. 29, 1980, to the former Jessie R. Dethrow, who died Jan. 22, 2005.

Nored was educated in the Henry County School System. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was employed for more than 32 years with Dana Corp., Plumley companies and also worked at Emerson Electric, Trevathans and Walgreen's drug stores. He was a member of the Paris-Henry County Civic League.

He leaves a brother: Charlie Nored of Paris; two sisters: Jean Carol Teague and husband Claude Teague Jr., and Immokalee (Eugene) King, both of Paris; a stepgrandson: Donald "Skipper" Dethrow Jr.; and several other relatives.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Lillian Nored and Lenora Kyle; and a stepson: Donald Dethrow Sr.
