Her father, Daniel, emigrated to Canada in 1912 to establish a home there. He brought Dulcie and William (Bill) to Canada in 1919 on the S. S. Grampion. Dulcie was unhappy about leaving England and settling in Quebec, Canada where the "snow was up to the horses' bellies". Dulcie kept house for her father and helpers at the Clark farm in Quebec. Her father then bought a farm in Picton, Ontario, and married Annie White Williams, a widow he had met in England during the war.
In England, Dulcie had worked at a post office and apprenticed at Whipple Brothers, a company that sold hand embroidered linens to churches all over the world. She got a job in Canada caring for two children of the Ross family in Windsor, Ontario, and later became a dental assistant. Dulcie roomed with Rose Baker. She married Rose's brother, Walter Baker 19 August 1925 at Picton, Ontario, Canada.
They first lived in Windsor, Ontario where Walter worked for the John Deere Company, then in the auto industry and finally for Peerless Weighing Machine Company. Walter was assigned to Philadelphia and then to the Massachusetts area where he was in charge of the New England district.
A son, Robert Jay Baker was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
A daughter, Barbara Ann was born at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dulcie suffered three strokes and died 16 June 1986 at Milton, Mass. Her husband, Walter, died 25 May 1990 at Milton, Mass.
