Suggested edit: Mrs. Martha Lewellen Stroud, one of Coffee County's oldest residents, died at her home, Elba Route, on December 25, 1950, following an illness of four weeks. She was born in Coffee County and was 88 years of age. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a wife of the late J.T. Stroud. She had resided at he place of her death about 15 years.

Surviving are a son, T.M. Stroud; six brothers, J.M., C.H., F.M., D.M., David and G.A. Cain: Mrs. Sallie Goodson.

Funeral services were held on December 26 at Pleasant Ridge church, conducted by Rev. Pierce.

Active pallbearers were J.E. and H.C. Stroud, Charles Vaughan, Jace Smart and F.J. Hussey.

Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Hayes Funeral Home Directing.
