A native of Wilmington, Del., Mr. Alford moved here eight years ago from Onley, Texas. He was Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Alford, Ocala; son, Richard Alford Jr., Korea; daughters, Joellen Thompson, Ocala, and Jessica Withrow, Ocala; brothers, Lawrence Alford, Arizona, and Wayne Alford, Wilmington; mother, Anna C. Alford, New Castle, Del.; and six grandchildren.
