A native of Kentucky, Mr. Poff had lived in the Lexington area for the past 15 years. He was employed by Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co. He was a member of the Christian Church of London, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth: daughters, Mrs. Amanda Murphy, Mrs. Wanda Miller, Mrs. Shirley Hilserscop and Mrs. W. Jones, all of Hamilton, Ohio, son James, also of Hamilton, stepsons, Orville and Frank Dyer, both of Columbus; stepdaughters, Miss Mary Fodor of Columbus and Mrs. Ruby Steel in Pennsylvania; sister, Mrs. Georgia(Mae Poff) Johnson in Kentucky; half-brothers, John Hodge of Kentucky, R.J. Hodge of Hamilton and Earl Garland in Arizona; 14 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday from the Snyder Funeral Home Lexington, the Rev. Edger Beagle officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
