He was born on September 14, 1928, in Bolivar, New York, the only child of the late Clarence and Cathryn Shaner.
Ken served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict after graduating from Bolivar High School in New York. He later worked for and retired from the F.A.A. in Washington, D.C. Burial at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar, New York.
