Frances Arlene Richard, 81, 314 S. Evergreen, Chanute, KS, died Sunday, March 13, 1988, at Neosho Memorial Hospital, Chanute, Kansas, after an illness of two days.

She was born March 29, 1906 In Weatherford, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert H. and Nora H. (Summerford) Carter.

In June of 1926, she was married to John B. Richard in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

A resident of the Chanute area for 18 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors Include her husband, of the home; three sons, John R. Richard, 401 S. Highland, Chanute, KS, James Richard, Oklahoma City, OK, and Paul Richard of McLouth, KS; one brother, Robert Carter, of California; one sister, Ruth Carter, Ventura, CA; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Service is scheduled for Tuesday at the Johnson Chapel, with the Rev. Marilyn Gregory and the Rev. Jack Gregory officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, KS.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
