L. T. "Pete" James of Battle Creek was born on May 31, 1917 in Trenton, Tennessee.

L. T. "Pete" James, 92, of Battle Creek passed away on June 1, 2009 at home.

He was married to Louise Williams James, who preceded him in death in 1986. He was also predeceased by a sister, Dolly Ingram.

He was a founding member of Bethlehem Temple of Springfield where his daughter, Pastor Ollie M. Rudolph. He was employed by Murray Construction Company as a Construction Worker and Truck Driver until he retired in 1981. He was a member of the Teamsters Chauffeurs and Helpers Local #34.

He is survived by two daughters, Pastor Ollie M. Rudolph of Battle Creek, and Mrs. China M. Phillips of Benton Harbor, Michigan; grandson, Richard Murrell of Battle Creek; nephew, Joseph Bass, Jr. and James (Catherine) Scott and nieceS, Mrs. Ruby (James) Woods both of Battle Creek; and a cousin, Mrs. Faye Fry of Battle Creek.

The family will receive friends at Bethlehem Temple of Springfield from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Temple of Springfield, 610 Parish St., Battle Creek.

Burial will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made to Bethlehem Temple of Springfield. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes. (269)965-5145 www.bachmanhebble.com
