Anna was born July 31, 1904, in Philadelphia Penn., the daughter of Oscar Victor and Ananda Theresa Johnson. She married Seymour Young Horton on August 7, 1925, in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Anna was a devoted member of the Church and a valiant leader of women and children. She served in the Primary for over 30 years, many of them as South Salt Lake Stake Primary President. She also served in the Sunday School, the MIA and Relief Society. She served with her husband in the Salt Lake LDS Temple as a Temple worker for seven years. Anna worked side-by-side with her husband "Sy" at Horton's Cash Store for over 25 years, treating each customer with dignity and respect. She spoke often of all those she served. Anna was a kind and loving lady who was devoted to her family; she was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives; especially that of her dear husband who lovingly cared for her for more than 66 years.We love you, Mom, and place you in our Heavenly Father's care.
Survivors include her husband Seymour, one son, Leland (wife Mary) Horton, two daughters, Darlene (husband Darwin) Parkin, Carolyn Horton-Crabtree (husband G. Richard Crabtree); 32 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by one son, Dexter S., one great-grandchild, Sommer Lynn Burton, five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 19, 1992, at the East Millcreek Stake Center, 3103 East 3600 South, with Bishop Heinz Weixler officiating. Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
