RIVERTON - Marianna "Lena" Vicari Yannone, 97, of Riverton died at 7:52 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at St. John's Hospice.

Lena was born January 15, 1912, in Palermo Sicily, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Lagrego Mannino. She married Marion Yannone on January 20, 1934 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Springfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, John; and grandson, Jeff Housley.

She is survived by four daughters, Millie Vogel and Marie McGrew of Springfield, Marilyn (Dennis) Barnett and Louise Housley of Riverton; two sons, Frank and Jim Yannone, both of Springfield; one sister, Santina Smith of Mt. Pulaski; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Memorial ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Riverton Christian Church, 1245 North 7th Street, Riverton, IL, with Rev. Frank Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1905.

The family is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
