F. Evelyn Henry, age 89 of the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, formerly of Gap, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Norman W. Henry of Elizabethtown for 68 years as of June 19th of last year. She was born in Roaring Springs, PA, daughter of the late Abram D. and Nellie E. Hazlett Barley. She was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap. She was a member of the Gap V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary of which she was past president and Gap Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband are 3 children: Wanda L. wife of James L. Kauffman of Christiana, William R. Henry of Miami, FL, Frank N. husband of Nancy Henry of Akron, PA; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters: Edith Roach of Silver Springs, MD, Frances Madden of Washington State. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: William, Abram, Charles and Gerald.
Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 2nd at 2 p.m from the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA with a viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. will be officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA.
