GEORGE C. HARSIN was born, June 22, 1841 in Shelbyville, Shelby county, Indiana. When but six years old his parents moved to Knoxville, Iowa. He was married in 1861 to Sarah Agan. There were four sons born of this union, John, Sylvester, Arthur, and George Edgar.
In 1877 they moved to Mills county, Iowa, and thence to Wayne county, Nebraska, in 1882 and to Thurston county in 1896. He died at their home in Thurston county, February 19th aged 64 years 7 months 27 days. He leaves a wife and three sons to mourn the loss of a loving husband and kind father.
He was converted at the age of 24 and joined the Methodist church, and when he moved to Thurston county he joined the Presbyterian church. During all thee years he was an earnest and consistent Christian, doing good to all he met. He died rejoicing in Christ.
The funeral services were held at the home on Tuesday conducted by the Rev Hawley Churchill. He was buried in the Presbyterian cemetery in Emerson.
