LAWTON, July 31 – Mrs. Zella M. Boyd, 77, died Tuesday in Lakeview Community hospital, following a long illness.
Mrs. Boyd, the widow of the late William S. Boyd, was born in Augusta, Mich., February 7, 1880. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Ritter. Mrs. Boyd was a resident of the Lawton area for many years.
Mrs. Boyd was a member of the Maccabee hive of Lawton and the Sunshine club, Durkee district, of Lawton.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Purple of Lawton; a niece, Mrs. Zella Reid, who lived with Mrs. Boyd for many years; and several other nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the Prindle funeral home in Lawton Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Charles Garrod, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist church of Lawton, will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Charles Lawton, Lewis Cameron, Arthur Jenson, Lawrence Thornton, Charles McCauslin and William Russ Jr., all of Lawton.
