Funeral services have been set for two Linn county men killed in a car-truck crash on highway 150, north of Hiawatha, Tuesday evening. Authorities said Glenn E. Ritze, 80, and Raymond B. Schmickle, 75, both of rural Linn county, were fatally injured when the car in which they were riding, driven by Ritze, was involved in a collision with a semitrailer truck.

Schmickle, a lifelong resident of Linn county, was born May 7, 1897, near Lafayette.

On Dec. 21, 1921, at Midway, he was married to Martha Auman.

Mr. Schmickle, a retired, farmer, was presently an agent for the West Side Mutual Insurance Co., and the Grinnell Re-Insurance Co.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Burdette Schmickle of Denver,Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Larry Sylvester of Marion; three grandsons; a sister, Esther Andrews of Alburnett, and a brother, Harold Schmickle of Boone.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Free United Methodist church in Toddville conducted by the Rev. John Green. Burial: Dunkard cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch chapel in Marion after 7 p.m. Thursday. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to The Toddville Free United Methodist memorial fund.
