☆☆☆~ U.S. Navy Veteran ~☆☆☆

David was baptized at Saint John's United Church of Christ in Slatington, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania - the same church where his father was baptized. In 1977 he graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, and in 1980 he graduated from the State University of New York with a Master's degree in psychology. In June 1988 he married Doraldean and they had one son - David Jr.

From 1991-1996 he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, initially as a mail sorter, and later supervising mail-sorting on the night shift.

On October 22, 1996, police were called to the apartment building where David lived because residents smelled the natural gas coming from his ground-floor apartment. The pilot light on the stove had been extinguished and all four burners had been turned to high. His body was found lying across his bed, face down, with scratches and bruises on his face. His wrists were bound behind his back with the cord from his digital clock. He was apparently suffocated with a pillow. Because David was deaf, he had not heard the two people who broke into his apartment to rob him.
