Jack was a former City Councilman and was a retired brick contractor and after his retirement he worked for 15 years as a water plant operator for the City of Cherryville. He was a Veteran of U.S. Army, World War II. He was preceded in death by his mother, his wife, Alma Inez Dixon Kale
and a brother Ben Robert Dellinger. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors two sons Jack Steven Kale of Bend, Oregon, Gregory Scott Kale and wife Melissa, of Cherryville, two daughters, Linda Kale Barger, of Cherryville and Brenda Kale Ballard and husband Jerry, of Concord, grandchildren, Katlyn Kale, Billy Jack Barger and wife Heather, Chastity Page and husband Lee, Great grandchildren, Natalie Barger, Emma Page and Holden Page.
Funeral services, Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, 3:00 P.M. Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter's Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating with burial to follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 1:00 - 2:45 P.M. at the funeral home.
