Casket bearers are Brian McKillip, Corey McKillip, Jody McKillip, Eric McKillip, Carl Laymon and John Yeater. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery with military rites conducted by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1565 and American Legion Post 27.
He was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Muscatine, the son of John P. and Helena E. Friese McKillip Sr. He married Nancy L. Hahn Sept. 3, 1966, in Muscatine.
He was a life long resident of the Muscatine area.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1961-63.
He worked at Henderson's Garage and later worked at LaFarge Corp. of Buffalo.
He enjoyed traveling and NASCAR races.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Andrew W. McKillip of Muscatine; a daughter, Amanda L. McKillip of Muscatine; two brothers, Clifford McKillip and wife Betty and Chester McKillip and wife Joy, all of Muscatine; four sisters, Velma Truesdale and Anna Mae Morgan and husband Ralph, all of Fairport, Esther Hansen and husband Melvin of Durant and Bernice Stalkfleet of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clarence and Wilbur McKillip.
