Thomas Butland Pote died Tuesday night, 9:30 o'clock, after a long illness at his home on North Street. - aged 84 years 5 days. Mr. Pote was born at Plymouth, England, April 4th 1817, but for many years had been one of the prominent and best known farmers of Posey County. About a year ago he moved from his farm 1 1/2 miles east to his residence in town. Deceased leaves a widow, two sons (Trustee Henry Pote and Postmaster Morris Pote), and several daughters, as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services take place at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Maple Hill.
