Randy Burns Is Killed in Car Accident Thursday

A former Davis resident, Randy E. Burns, 22, of Liberal, Kans., was killed Thursday, June 4 in a traffic accident in Liberal. Funeral services were Monday at United Methodist church in Davis with Rev. Troy Pults officiating. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery., Davis, under the direction of Bahner Funeral Home. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Ketch-Campbell Funeral Home in Liberal.

Pallbearers at the services in Davis were former schoolmates, Mike Grider, Jimmie Salter, Mike Lowther, Eldon Rogers, Roy Webb, and Bob Pullen.

Burns was born Sept. 27, 1947, at El Reno. He attended school at Woodland and Davis and graduated from Davis high school in 1966. He was a member of the United Methodist church of Davis.

He was employed by the McAllister Engineering and Well Service company in Liberal where he had lived for two and one-half years.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, and son, Chad Gordon Burns of the home; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Eugene Burns of Davis; his sister, Mrs. Gary Readnour of Ada; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lena Burns of El Reno, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. R. C. Wheeler of Geary.
