SERVICES FOR FORMER DAYTON MAN ARE HELD MONDAY IN NEWBERG

DAYTON, July 12 – Funeral services for Chester L. Christenson, 42, a native of
Yamhill county and former Dayton resident, were held Monday at Newberg.
Interment was in Evergreen Memorial park. He died Thursday as the result of a
fall from a telephone pole on July 3.

The son of the late George Christenson and Mrs. Sina Christenson of Dayton, he
was born March 31, 1903 at Amity. He spent his entire life in and near Dayton
except for the last nine years when he worked in Camas, Forest Grove and
Newberg.

He was married to Lola Johnson in August 1929 at Dayton. Mrs. Christenson
survives as so a son, Gayle, and daughter, Norma Lee, as well as two sons by a
former marriage, James Eugene of Berkeley, Calif., and Robert Richard, somewhere
in the south Pacific; his mother; two brothers, Will of Dayton and Erwin of Ren;
four sisters, Mrs. George Mason of Los Angeles, Mrs. Mildred Subblefield,
Lebanon, Mrs. Arlena Goreman, Crabtree and Carrie Christenson of Portland.

He was a member of the Dayton Evangelical church since 1923 and was a graduate of Dayton high school.
