SOPHIE KIEHN
Mrs. August Kiehn, 79, lifelong Manitowoc County resident, died Sunday after a lingering illness at the home of a son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Anthold. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harvey Rakow will officiate and burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery in the town of Kossuth. The former Sophie Rutz was born March 28, 1874, in the town of Two Rivers. Following her marriage Feb. 16, 1898, the Mr. Kiehn the couple settled on a farm in Kossuth. The husband died in 1936 and for the past 2 1/2 years Mrs. Kiehn had made her home with the Antholds near Rockwood. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anthold, of Rt. 5, Manitowoc; a son, Edwin of Rt. 1, Valders; a brother, Alex of Manitowoc and five grand-children. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.
