West Springfield Rose Marie (Hackett) Raineault, 78 a longtime resident of this town, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. Born August 8 1924 to the late Archibald and Margaret (Drislane) Hackett, she lived here for most of her life. She had previously lived in Agawam, Holyoke, and Springfield. Rose was a member of the American Legion Post 207 Ladies Auxillary for over 20 years, served as their chaplain for 16 years, and was the Chairwomen of the "Poppy Drive". She was a Den Mother of the Troop 87 Cub Scout Pack for many years. She was a volunteer for the West Springfield Senior Center for many years. She leaves her son, Anthony A. Raineault of West Springfield; a brother Robert A. Hackett of Springfield; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Raineault, in 1996; and by her daughter Teresa Tuttle, in 1993. The funeral services will be heald Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Toomy-O'Brien Funeral Home. 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield, and burial will be at a later date in St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m.
