In December 1943 she was united in marriage to Tancrede Charles. The couple was blessed with two beautiful children. Dulia was a master seamstress and provided sewing for many of the families around town, especially at the beginning of the school year and during Christmas time.
Dulia left Haiti for the United States in 1968 and returned home in August of 1971 after the unfortunate death of her daughter Esther. She then lived there for 2 years.
Dulia was very much involved in church activities (Sunday school teacher, Woman's choir Baptist Church, Haiti) In the USA Dulia never stopped singing for the Lord. (Choir member of Dean Street Baptist Church, NY. Choir member of Allapattah Baptist Church, Miami, Choir Member of Salem Church of God, Lake Worth) Her husband died in 1983.
Mrs Marie Dulia Charles believed in God and that is her most precious gift to the world. She was survived by one son, four grandsons and one great-grandson.
On June 1, 2001 her Father called her home.
