There is no other documentation at this time, including the Social Security Death Index, his WWI Draft Registration and the census records from 1900 through 1940, that confirms the O. middle initial; therefore, it is not used above in his name. Additional info came later that his middle initial is C; that coming from his deceased daughter's obituary. It is also noted that his son uses the name Walter G. Masser Jr., making his middle initial a G. It appears that no one really knows!
