My "Uncle John" like his wife worked for the government in a civilian capacity. His first love however was his photography, and I should know because as a child I was the subject of most of his pictures. I was an only niece and grandchild who was doted on. Uncle John loved people and enjoyed talking to people. He would go to the local CoCo's and talk to the monsignor that went there in the afternoon. He would visit my ceramic class and have a nice discussion with my teacher. His world rose and set in my aunt and when that world caved in he was a lost man, however he refound himself in his photography again. His love to talk was evident when he became a ham radio operator. His call sign was WD6EIS (one dot,two dot, three dot). He made a whole new gaggle of friends and they became his surrogate family. It was not unusual to find him on the radio at 3 am. I am going to sign off now with something he signed off with: may the road rise to meet you and the wind be at your back, and your troubles few.
