Adams had been a resident of Justin for 25 years, during which time he owned and operated grocery and dry goods stores and later the Richey Furniture Store. He had retired from active business life about two years ago.
The widely known Denton County merchant was born in the Parvin Community of Denton County on September 12, 1883. He operated the Navo Store from 1914 until 1923, when he moved to Denton. He moved his family to Justin in 1929 and opened the grocery and dry goods store.
Adams served as member of the Justin City Council from 1947 until 1953. He was active in the work of the Justin Methodist Church and had served as a trustee and a member of the board of stewards. He was a Mason and had been active in Justin civic life.
He married Miss Lula Danie Richey on March 12, 1907.
Services will be held in the Justin Methodist Church, with the Rev. Danny Jones, pastor, in charge, assisted by the Rev. Noble Glasco of Dallas. Burial will be in the Justin Cemetery, under the direction of the Schmitz Funeral Home of Denton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leo and Richey Adams; three daughter, Mrs. R. C. Dolley, Mrs. W. S. Powers, both of Justin and Mrs. Harvey Ridlon of Denton; one sister, Mrs. G. F. Watson of Decatur.
