Nancy Elizabeth Wagstaff Phillips was born in Brocklin, Shelby County, Texas to the parents: William W. Wagstaff (1839-1931) and Caroline Williams (1844-1926). She (Nancy) was married in 1886 to James Lankford Phillips (1855-1927). She died in Waurika, Jefferson County, Oklahoma in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah O'banion and Samuel Bert Gay. Bert and Bannie Gay brought her back by train to her home town just after Christmas in 1939 to be buried in the old Home Cemetery.
