Leta E. Ashbrook Priest
Aug. 17, 1906 - Aug. 14, 2001

A funeral service for Leta E. Ashbrook Priest, 94, a life-long resident of Johnstown, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Rector officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Priest, a 1926 graduate of Johnstown High School died Aug. 14, 2001, at the Morning View Care Center, Sundbury. She was born Aug. 17, 1906, in Johsnstown, to the late Charles A. and Candace A. (Parson) Ashbrook.

Mrs. Priest retired from the United Telephone Company (Sprint) in 1972.

She is survived by her children, Wilma (Bernard) Shaub of Johnstown, Charles (Pat) Priest of Blacklick, and Donald (Joy) Priest of Johnstown; nine grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lela Ashbrook and Ann Moore Ashbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Priest, in 1945; and brothers, Arthur, Hiram, BUrton, Austin "Pete", and Charles.

Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Friday a the funeral home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown.
