~Mrs. Frances Blackmon Adams, 83, of Phenix City died Saturday, September 11 at her home. Graveside services were held Tuesday, September 14 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus with Dr. Eugene Langner officiating, according to Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City. Active pallbearers were here grandsons; Honorary pallbearers were William M. Adams, Charles H. Adams, John R. Tant, James E. Tant, Jr., Chris Wall, Barry Wall and Slater Hensley.
~Mrs. Adams was born June 12, 1921 in Phenix City, the daughter of John Henry Blackmon and Velma Lloyd Blackmon. She was a retired Florist and a member of North Phenix Baptist Church.
~Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, William Barney Adams, and a son, Major James C. Adams. Mrs. Adams is survived by one son, Dr. William E. Adams, and his wife, Sharon of Columbus; five grandsons, James C. Adams, II, Christopher E. Adams, William E. Adams, Jr., Clayton M. Adams and Dr. John B. Adams; one great granddaughter, Haven Adams.
