TABLE ROCK ARGUS, March 21, 1907.

M. H. Marble wrote the following for this morning's State Journal: Mrs. Ada Martin, who formerly lived a couple miles north of here on a farm on the Nemaha river, recently died at her home in Los Angeles, Cal., after a long and lingering illness. She was the wife of Joseph T. Martin, well known here, who was postmaster of Table Rock in the early 80's, and at a later period deputy postmaster at Wymore, and who is a brother of Sheriff Martin of Pawnee City. Mrs. Martin, whose maiden name was Ada McClure, was raised in this vicinity and she was the daughter of Thomas McClure,sr., who was found dead in the Nemaha river in the year 1878. Many thought he was the victim of foul play and had been robbed, but a coroner's jury after a prolonged session of several days, decided his death to be accidental. Mr. Thomas McClure,sr., married for his second wife, Mrs. Julia Gere, the widowed mother of the late C. H. Gere.
