Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel in Alvarado, Texas, with the Reverend John Valentine officiating.
Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado.
Mr. Abshire was a member of Barnesville Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Abshire, of Alvarado; sons, Charles Wayne Abshire and wife, Linda, of Victoria, Robert E. Abshire and wife, Sue, of Angleton; daughters, Linda DeCarlo of Bedford, Dana Sparks and husband, Dana Scott, of Arlington; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert Abshire of Iredell, Pete Abshire of Lake Isabella, California, Eldon Abshire of Alvarado; and sister, Joyce Bennett of Lancaster, California.
