Bernie Coe Weikle, 88, of 216 E. Parrish St. Covington Va., died April 20, in the C&O Hospital at Clifton Forge Va. After an extended illness.

Mr. Weikle was born March 19, 1877 in Monroe County W. Va., a son of the late Sylvester Upton Weikle and Amanda Jane Arnott Weikle. He was the husband of Mrs. Margaret Ann Morgan Weikle who preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1957.

Mr. Weikle was a member of the Granbery Memorial Methodist Church and Walter Lambuth Bible Class of the church. He had been a resident of Covington for the past 35 years and was formerly employed by the Edgemont School.

He is survived by six sons Lawrence A. Weikle, Wheeler L. Weikle, Layman E. Weikle, James R. Weikle, Cebert B. Weikle and Warren F. Weikle; two daughters Mrs. Theldra W. Humphries and Mrs. Roscoe (Dorothy) Buckland.; two sisters , Mrs. Emma Miller and Mrs. Lizzie Broyles; one brother S. Anderson Weikle; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Another son, Marcus L. Weikle preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held Thursday April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Granbery Memorial Methodist Church with Dr. Herbert E. Hudgins officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The body will be taken from the Arritt Funeral Home to the residence at 5 p.m. today and will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
