Layman Edward Weikle, 53, of 1415 W. Jackson St. Covington, Va. died Tuesday evening in Princeton W.Va., from injuries sustained in an airplane accident.

He was born in Greenbrier County W. Va. on Jan. 5, 1913, a son of the late Bernie Coe Weikle and Margaret Ann Morgan Weikle. He had been a resident of this area for the past 35 years and was a member of the Granbery Memorial Methodist Church and the Walter Lambuth Bible School class. He was a pilot and was the operator of the Covington Airport. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association and the Civil Air Patrol.

Mr. Weikle is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Weikle; one son Robert Lee Weikle; two daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Joyce) Stogdale and Miss Bonnie Weikle; five brothers, Lawrence A. Weikle, Wheeler L. Weikle, James R. Weikle, Cebert B. Weikle and Warren F. Weikle; two sisters Mrs. Theldra W. Humphries and Mrs. Roscoe (Dorothy) V. Buckland and four grandchildren. One brother, Marcus L. Weikle preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Granbery Memorial Methodist Church with Dr. Herbert Hudgins officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
