Frederick was the oldest child of Peter Buckius (1785-1847) and Mary (Tesse) Buckius (1789-1825).

He married Josephine Barnes on October 2, 1845 in the Frankford Presbyterian Church, Phila. Pa.

Frederick died at the age of 30 from a brain aneurism (grave records).
