HOUSTON – Curtis E. Alford, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at the Mississippi
State Veterans Home in Oxford. He was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Chickasaw County. He
was a retired employee of the Jackson Casket Company and a member of the
Mississippi Funeral Directors Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World
War II and a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston. He enjoyed hunting
and fishing. He loved the funeral industry and those that he served.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston
with Bro. Dan Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Houston Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Margueritte “Marg” Seale Alford of Houston; three
daughters, Barbara Ann Ladner and Jim of Madison, Betty Neilson and Charlie of
Tupelo, and Sue Boyd and Randy of Tupelo; three sons, Curtis “Hub” Alford and
Adele of Starkville, Bill Alford and Connie of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mitch
Alford and Sherry of Houston; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a
sister, Geraldine Allen of Houston; a brother, J.W. Alford of California; a
great-aunt, Bill Purnell of New Albany.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. Alford and Ollie Berry Alford, and
three sisters, Ethel Winberly, Virginia Bray and Olene Lawson.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Funeral Directors Scholarship Fund,
P.O. Box 22932, Jackson MS 39225-22932; or a charity of the donor's choice.
