Gustav was born in Brannan Norrbottens Sweden and immigrated to America arriving February 23, 1906 on the ship S.S. Cedric of the White Star Line coming into New York. He departed from Liverpool England He became a American Citizen in Fairbanks Alaska 1918 and put in his petition for citizenship September 13, 1912. A.J. Nordale owner of the Nordale Hotel signed as his witness.

He married Theresa around 1916 who was also from Sweden and had immigrated in 1914. They had two son at least the oldest being Gunnar M and younger son Harry A. Both were born in Alaska. He registered for the draft for World War I in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1917.

The family was living in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1920 and Gustav was a Blacksmith working at his own shop

Sometime in 1920 before March they moved into the Nenana 4th District of Alaska. Gustav was working as a Blacksmith for the Healy Coal Mine. In 1930 he was working as a machinist for the coal mine.

Gustav was trained as a Engineer and a Blacksmith.

Sadly they lost their son Gunnar in 1937 at the age of 19.

Then he lost his wife Theresa in 1949. Sometime after Theresa's death he moved to Washington where he passed away.

They are all buried beside each other in the Clay Street Cemetery.
