Son of George Washington Ford & Elizabeth (Cupp) Ford. Husband of Mary Ann (Hopper) Ford. My 4x great grandfather.

UPDATE: July 8, 2017
It's always been told that Elijah burned to death in a house fire and that his daughter, Melvina was burned (and later died) trying to save him. On July 8, 2017, after lots of research, time, and dedication, I found these newspaper articles that prove it's true.

NEWSPAPER ARTICLE FROM THE PUBLIC LEDGER, DATED SATURDAY OCTOBER 3, 1896:
FATHER DEAD, DAUGHTER WILL DIE

Greenwood, Ky. Oct 3-Friday evening Jake Minton's house at Upland, near here, caught fire and was burned to the ground in 25 minutes. Mrs. Minton's father, an old man about eighty years old, was burned to death before he could get out. Mrs. Jake Minton was severely burned in trying to save him, and will die. They lost everything. The fire is supposed to have originated from a defective flue.

NEWSPAPER ARTICLE FROM THE INTERIOR JOURNAL, DATED TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1896:
