Mrs. Mary E. Priest
Mrs. Mary E. Priest, 79, widow of Gilbert F. Priest, died Sunday afternoon in the home, 449 Ballard avenue. While Mrs. Priest had been in failing health for some time she had only been confined to her bed four days.
A native of Licking county, born March 14, 1862, she was the daughter of E. P. and Virginia Reid. A resident of Newark 28 years, Mrs. Priest leaves a daughter, Mrs. William Karns of Buckeye Lake and three grandchildren. Two grandchildren, Mrs. James Swartz and Rosa Williams were reareb by Mrs. Priest; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Smith of Newark and Mrs. Alice Francis of Claylick, also survive.
The deceased was a member of the Christian Union church and funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pleasant View church, conducted by Rev. A. B. Cox. Burial will be made in Barnes cemetery. Funeral director, E. V. McCament.
